FTA DMPK Cards (white)

DBS microvolume sampling requires only 10 to 20 µl per sample. FTA DMPK-C Card is not impregnated with chemicals and may be better suited for protein-based biomolecules.

 

FTA Purification Reagent 

Our Whatman FTA Purification Reagent is used for purifying nucleic acids stored on FTA cards. 

 

Cutting Mat 

The cutting mat ensures clean sample cuts from FTA/FTA Elute Cards and extends the life of the cutting tip of punch.

Whatman FTA Cards

Whatman FTA technology has the ability to lyse cells on contact, denature proteins, and protect DNA from degradation. FTA chemistry contains chemical denaturants and a free radical scavenger. With FTA, the DNA remains tightly bound while proteins and inhibitors are washed from the matrix. 

 

Three options for DNA analysis

There are three options for DNA analysis with FTA cards: direct amplification, standard amplification with rinsing (“punch-in” method) and extraction of DNA from the card. 

 

Available for use with colored samples

FTA cards are available as non-indicating cards for use with colored samples, such as blood.

Whatman FTA Elute Cards

Whatman FTA technology consists of two distinct chemistries, both of which have the ability to lyse cells on contact, denature proteins, and protect DNA from degradation. FTA Elute contains a chaotropic salt. With FTA Elute, proteins remain tightly bound while DNA is eluted from the matrix. 

 

Uses for eluted DNA

With FTA Elute, eluted DNA can be used for STR analysis (standard amplification), sequencing, and real-time PCR applications. 

 

Available for use with colored samples

FTA Elute Cards are available as non-indicating cards for use with colored samples, such as blood.

FTA DMPK Cards (white)

  • DBS microvolume sampling requires only 10 to 20 μl per sample
  • Fewer experimental animals are required because Toxicokinetic data are derived from Toxicology animals, thereby eliminating satellite colonies
  • More consistent data are obtained through more serial sampling from individual animals and less reliance on composite data
  • The 3-step DBS procedure is much more straightforward than the cumbersome centrifugation, isolation and clean-up of plasma
  • On-substrate clean-up has the potential to convey greater analyte stability, especially for enzyme-sensitive compounds
  • Room temperature stability saves on cost of dry ice shipments
  • Shipping without dry ice allows more remote sampling

 

FTA DMPK-C Card is not impregnated with chemicals and may be better suited for protein-based biomolecules. Samples can be shipped and stored at ambient temperature and long-term stability has been demonstrated for analytes and metabolites sensitive to plasma enzymes.

 

 

 

FTA Purification Reagent

Our Whatman FTA Purification Reagent is used for purifying nucleic acids stored on FTA cards.

  • For use with Whatman FTA Cards, Indicating FTA Cards, and EasiCollect Device for the purification of nucleic acids
  • Proprietary chemistry ensures high-quality DNA for STR analysis
  • 500 ml bottle for an increased number of reactions

 

FTA Purification Reagent is used to purify DNA captured and stored on FTA cards. This reagent can be used to wash punches in the "punch-in" procedure for standard STR amplification. 

 

FTA Purification Reagent allows for excellent results by removing PCR inhibitors and contaminations, which can lower PCR yields. High-quality DNA can be achieved from samples washed with the FTA Purification Reagent due to the propriety chemistry that facilitates DNA release from the FTA matrix. The versatility of the FTA Purification Reagent allows the user to purify DNA captured on FTA cards, Indicating FTA Cards, and EasiCollect Devices.
