Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit
For multiplex amplification of the new European Standard Set of loci, plus SE33, and Amelogenin directly from swabs and papers
The Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit amplifies the full suite of 15 STR markers in the new European Standard Set (ESS) of loci, plus SE33, and the gender-specific Amelogenin, as recommended by the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) and approved by the European Union Council. The kit utilizes a modified version of QIAGEN’s fast-cycling plus technology, enabling amplification in as little as 45 minutes. With rapid and reliable results from reference samples such as buccal swabs, as well as buccal cells or blood on papers, the Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit is suitable for reference testing in forensic applications and paternity testing.
The Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit is intended for molecular biology applications in forensic, human identity, and paternity testing. This product is not intended for diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease. This product is not available in all countries.
The Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit utilizes fast-cycling technology to provide reliable results in approximately 45 minutes, which is significantly faster than kits from other suppliers.
The novel Fast Reaction Mix is based on proven QIAGEN multiplex PCR technology that has been further optimized to increase inhibitor tolerance. Assay performance tested in the presence of increasing concentrations of 6 types of inhibitor (humic acid, hematin, tannic acid, indigo carmine, calcium, and collagen) shows high sensitivity and superior inhibitor resistance. This enables the generation of reliable, high-quality results for example directly from blood or for samples on FTA paper.
The Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit was validated and evaluated using the GeneAmp 9700 thermal cycler (in standard mode) and the Applied Biosystems 3500 Genetic Analyzer.
The Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit uses QIAGEN's fast-cycling PCR technology for the direct, simultaneous amplification of the 15 STR markers in the new European Standard Set (ESS) of loci, plus SE33, and the gender-specific Amelogenin. Carefully designed primers prevent overlap of loci alleles, thereby minimizing the likelihood of misinterpretation.
The 16 polymorphic STR markers and the gender-specific Amelogenin are amplified simultaneously in a single PCR directly from swabs or papers and labeled with one of the dyes listed (see the table Investigator ESSplex SE GO! Kit dyes and corresponding markers).
The amplified loci then undergo capillary electrophoresis. The results can be analyzed using dedicated software (see the table Technical specifications for more information).
