Functional microbiome profiling with the Microbial Genomics Pro Suite

Watch this webinar recording to learn how you can, with a few simple steps, analyze 16S rRNA sequencing data to obtain and compare taxonomic profiles of microbial communities. You will also learn how to assemble and annotate metagenomes to generate functional profiles, and how to carry out statistical comparisons of relative abundance between sample groups in the context of experiment-relevant metadata.

Arne Materna, PhD.

A microbiologist by training, Arne Materna received his doctoral degree from the University of Konstanz, Germany, and completed his postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At MIT, Arne’s research focused on techniques to study the ecology and evolution of microbial communities. Arne later joined Pacific Biosciences as Systems Architect responsible for the system level modeling of the biochemistry/molecular biology front-end of a new NGS device. In 2012 Arne joined CLC bio, now a part of the QIAGEN family. As Director for Microbial Genomics and Metagenomics at QIAGEN, Arne was responsible for bioinformatics solutions tailored to the needs of microbiologists.
